The Kingdom of the Unknown

I have been thinking a lot about the Kingdom of the Unknown as part of art in general but even more about the purpose of it. I don’t read a lot of books but for this occasion I even went to the library (which I go to every week anyway but more for books with little images) to get some reading about contemporary art. The major question I wanted to be answered was how to know that the art you produce is worthwhile and of a certain acceptable standard. Of course I needed to research the standards first and it looks like what I do is following the standards reasonably well. Perfection doesn’t exist but the sprit of innovation, research for new techniques and visual attractiveness were important criteria to do well. They still are but there has come a very strong commercial side attached to it which is not especially what you get to be taught in art school, this is the reason probably I had to figure it out myself. The provocation and desperate run to acknowledgement and recognition explains a lot the raison why contemporary art is misunderstood. In this period of history everything is part of the artwork and this is why provocation regarded as almost a necessity if the art needs to serve its main purpose, to reach as many people as possible to tell them something. So I need to provoke for people to see me and just after having provoked my works will be seen as real art. This is the reason I thought it would have been a reason to put my Kingdom on a hold and to start something else, something commercial, provocative and revolutionary for this time. The digital revolution in which we live is for sure its leading guide but there is so much more that can be attached to it. I have decided to create the new concept in a different mind setting, reasoning and purpose, Therefore I have decided also NOT to link the Kingdom of the Unknown to the new concept and to produce the artworks of the new concept under a different name. I will have to put too much of my respectful being and good education to the side to afford to let everyone know that it is the King of the Unknown behind of it.The Kingdom will continue to exist and even more once the other concept will have received the attention by force.
